Yeetmon Up

Yeetmon Project — Concept & Development Overview

YeetmonGo was an experimental indie game project I developed as a personal creative challenge. The goal was to blend light-hearted creature collecting with simple action gameplay, wrapped in a playful, stylized world. Although the project was never fully completed, it served as an important exploration into game design, character creation, and production pipelines.

At its core, YeetmonGo centered around designing unique “Yeetmons”—small, expressive creatures with distinct personalities and abilities. The project started with world-building and character concept art, followed by prototyping gameplay inside Unity. I experimented with movement systems, creature behaviors, UI layouts, and environment interactions to form the foundational mechanics.

One of the key focuses was creating a visual identity that felt fun and energetic. I designed a cast of characters, explored animation styles, and developed interface assets to establish the tone of the game. The Unity prototype included early gameplay loops, character control, and environment functionality, providing a clear look at how the experience would feel.

While YeetmonGo ultimately remained unfinished, the project taught me valuable lessons about scope, planning, and the importance of defining a clear finish line before development begins. It reinforced the need to balance creativity with structure, and highlighted how every project—finished or not—improves technique and strengthens the creative process.

YeetmonGo remains an important part of my portfolio because it represents experimentation, learning, and growth within the world of game development. It also reflects my passion for character-driven experiences and my ongoing interest in building interactive worlds.
