Between A Rock And Balloon Place

Between a Rock and a Balloon Place is a short animated film about love, attachment, and the courage to let go, told in under 60 seconds as part of my Motifs in Motion series.

The story follows a young golem, grounded and sturdy by nature, and his joyful balloon companion who longs to drift into the sky. What begins as a playful friendship slowly unfolds into a heartfelt moment of understanding as both characters face the tension between holding on and setting each other free.

Created with a blend of humor, visual metaphor, and emotional storytelling, this film explores the universal experience of learning when to release someone or something you care about. It’s a gentle reminder that letting go isn’t losing, it’s allowing transformation.
